Here you can find online courses that are prepared around a wide set of relevant social science research topics. We expect different thematic focuses to attract students who are not only interested in the same methods but also share an interest in similar social science questions.

Since coding and the related technical skills are often a hurdle when introducing Social Scientists to Data Science or Big Data tasks, we set a focus on presenting online teaching materials based on Jupyter Notebooks that will allow easy exploration of data with a minimum of coding skills, but that will gradually lead participants to acquire more coding skills in R or Python. Based on the expertise GESIS has already built in online training, we provide students and researchers with interactive, “clickable” visual notebooks where code is hidden and can be gradually revealed and explored.
