Course description

Goal of this workshop is to bridge the gap between scientific programming in Python and data analysis. To pursue this goal this workshop will start with basics of computer science, algorithmic thinking and necessary skills to start with Python. Then the workshop will focus on hands-on exercises with important Python packages for data analysis such as NumPy, SciPy, etc.  The workshop will also cover the basic techniques of data visualization and communicating results effectively. The workshop is committed to ensure that the participants are successful even if they have no previous programming experience.

Keywords

Python Programming, Scientific Computing, Data Analysis

Target group

Master students

Graduates (not doctoral candidates), interested non-scientists
